Artist Leslie Clark travels the world to find inspiration for her paintings and to collect art to support artisans of other cultures. The process of painting comes from a very personal connection to a person or scene. Since her original oils are usually large, these images are derived from a combination of sketching, watercolors, journal entries and or photographs. The watercolors which form the basis for a painting embed the memory of that experience which helps her recreate that experience on canvas when she is back in her studio in Ojai California.
